Spheris' Growth Leads to New Chief Information Officer
Degati Joins Franklin Corporate Office.
Franklin, Tennessee May 03, 2005 Spheris, the leading global outsource provider of medical transcription technology and services, today announced the addition of a new chief information officer to its senior management team.Joseph Degati joins Spheris four months after it acquired Avicis, Inc., formerly known as HealthScribe Inc. The acquisition positioned Spheris to more rapidly expand its product and service offering of complete medical transcription technology and outsourcing services to healthcare providers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Degati brings 20 years of senior-level management experience in information systems from the retail, manufacturing, marketing and service industries for companies such as Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Andersen Consulting and Footstar, Inc. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and CIO for Progeny Marketing Innovations where he was responsible for all systems-related activities including applications development, technology management, strategic services and project administration.
Degati is a member of both the Nashville Technology Council and the Nashville CIO Council and is heavily involved with the United Way. He lives in Brentwood with his wife, Val, and their three children, Danielle, Alyssa and Joseph.
