Introduction to Spheris Clarity Care
Clarity Care is a personalized work management application for physicians and other care providers, including a comprehensive suite of tools that streamline signature workflow, assist the physician and may impact timely billing and reimbursement. With Clarity Care, physicians can view, edit and eSign documents, and review text and voice files simultaneously from the same application. A “cc” function enables document-sharing with other physicians.

- Centralized, online access to dictation files and transcribed documents, with eSignature capabilities that include dual-signature functionality.
- Physicians can instantly share documents through a “CC” function and print documents on demand.
- Interdepartmental Web access to courtesy copies of completed documents, reducing the resources and time required for manual distribution.
Clarity Care Features:
- Physician Editing and eSignature: Physicians can review, edit and electronically sign transcribed documents from any PC. Document review and editing capability is enhanced through a link that allows the physician to access and listen to the corresponding dictation. The eSign workflow enables physicians to review and sign multiple reports after viewing without returning to the work list. In addition, dual signature functionality required at teaching facilities and for other mid-level providers is supported. Physicians can create and use their own macros such as an attestation statement to be added at the time of signature.
- Electronic Document Access: Physicians and HIM staff can access documents and voice via the Web and search for transcribed documents based on a comprehensive menu of attributes. Updated job status is available including clear identification of STAT documents.
- Personalized Home Page: Users are presented with a personalized home page upon login that summarizes their information in a single dashboard of documents ready for review and authentication. Users can customize the layout to their own personal preferences and can manage their unique passwords.
- Centralized dictation access and playback: Physicians are presented with a list of all of their dictations and can search for specific dictations by a wide variety of attributes. Dictations can be listened to with one-click convenience.
- Group Signature: Administrative users can establish a group of physicians that can sign documents on behalf of each other for use in large specialty physician groups to support timely signature of transcribed documents.
- Document Deficiency Notification and Resolution: Voice and text are synchronized to noted issues within the document that could not be resolved through Clarity Complete processing. Simply click on the highlighted bookmark and the voice file is automatically synchronized to the text for easy review and resolution.
- Secure, Web-based access: Individuals can utilize Clarity Care from any computer with an Internet connection. Role-based authentication, 128-bit SSL data encryption and strong password support combine to ensure patient data access is tightly controlled and secure.
